| Joseph, an accomplished archaeologist from Crete, arrives at the island intending to help with his expertise in a local excavation. In a few days, his partner Sarah from London is expected to arrive, whom he plans to propose to. When she doesn't come, Joseph begins wandering through places he visited as a child. There he meets Akis, a local man attached to the past, burdened with a heavy debt of revenge. His fiancée abandoned him years ago, leaving him at the altar.
